I’ve been blogging and using WordPress (free and self-hosted) for years, but all of my self-hosted blogs were created and installed by Kuya Andrew.
A few weeks ago, the UP ITTC and UP SITF invited me to speak at the Philippine Youth Congress in Information Technology (Y4IT), and my topic is WordPress. Easy, right? I thought so.
But I was challenged to step up and install my own self-hosted WordPress blog so I can fully understand how easy it is to do it. Why? So I can speak with authority, from my own experience during the Y4IT. I sure don’t want to embarrass the people who invited me by being inept. I want to give my best talk, using the best possible resources and doing the best research I could.
I’m not much of a gadgets and tech girl, but I get by. This installation of my own self-hosted blog, and the maintenance of it will challenge me to learn more, know more about IT stuff which will help me with my blogging and other online work.

@Alvin, might not have been necessary for somebody like you, but I’m sure the organizers had good reason to invite me to make that talk.
okey yan. like si Aileen imposed a self-challenge to learn Ubuntu and how it works.
And yes, not everyone knows WordPress. Webdeveloper and programmer ako but I’m not familiar with wordpress. so okey yan

actually, open-source ang wordpress..
so programmer must need to know lahat ng pasikot-sikot sa wordpress. for most of us, di na sya kelangan actually ipaliwanag KUNG di ka din naman magffocus sa magooptimize nung mismong blog mo at wala kang balak na kalkalin ang loob nun.

-well, actually ako ay isang WordPress user. But, do i really know the internal content nung mismong wordpress?? tanong ko na din sa iyo yun brader! haha. 6_^
