2010 Summary Plugin Screen Capture

Here’s a nifty WordPress Plugin that you might find useful this end of the year. The 2010 Summary Plugin generates a summary of your blog activity including your posts, attachments, and the comments made in your blog for the entire year of 2010.

This is a good plugin for making your year end summary post, or for evaluating your blog performance. It also tells you the hours when you publish your posts and when the readers comment on your post. So you know when best to publish or promote your posts.

The plugin is by Tomasz Topa. You can either use the search and install function on your self-hosted WordPress blog, or you can visit the plugin site.

Avatar Media is bringing back WordCamp Philippines (WC Ph). Avatar Media is composed of 9 individuals who have organized WC Ph 2008 and 2009. And they are combining forces to stage WC Ph 2010. Working in collaboration with other past WC Ph 2010 co-organizers, volunteers, sponsors, and speakers with the input of the local blogging and WordPress communities, Avatar is determined to bring you a bigger and better WordCamp.

WordCamp Philippines 2010 is slated to happen on October 2, 2010 at the College of St. Benilde, Taft Avenue, Manila. There will be plenary sessions and there topics tracks: for Newbie Bloggers, for Advanced Bloggers, and for Developers. The organizers are asking for your help in suggesting topics and speakers. You can send you suggestions either by filling out their survey form or by commenting on the event blog.

Participants will be required to pay a fee of P700 for their entrance, meal, a shirt, and a WC Ph kit. Early birds will get a P200 discount. And students automatically get a P100 discount. Official announcements and the online registration form for this will be up on the event blog very soon.

Yes, yes, yes… this TechnoMaria hasn’t even updated this supposedly tech blog to the latest WordPress version. Then, again, I might decide to wait it out until WordPress 3 is finally released so I’d only have to do one upgrade.

Why wait out for WordPress 3? Because Mashable points out these 5 Most Important New Features of WordPress 3:

4. New Default Theme
5. Multi-Site

The most exciting or practical features for me are the Custom Post Types and the Multi-Site Features which I can use for my own blogs and blogs and sites of my clients. I also like the idea of being able to select my own username upon installation.

I first met ChiQ Montes during the ingress for WordCamp Philippines 2008. She was one of our hard-working volunteers. She is also the Filipina behind the wildly successful blogsite: WordPress Theme Designer.

Here’s a little something for you WordPress users: the Daily Top Ten Posts Plug-In. This plug-in won as the Best Plug-In or Extension in the Philippine Blog Awards 2008.

How is this plug-in helpful? The Daily Top Ten Plug-In keeps track of the blog posts that have the most number of views for the day, and over-all (see my side bar). This is very helpful for those who are planning to branch out into niche blogs, or maybe for SEO purposes. You may also use this to know the topics and keywords that your blog readers or visitors are most interested in.
